    Data Warehouse UTF-8 Testing

    There is a UTF-8 test data warehouse ("twhs") available for testing now.

    Follow these steps to connect to twhs:

    1) Add this service to your local tnsnames.ora.

    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = TWHS)
    )
    )

    2) Connect to the data warehouse VPN.

    3) Log into TWHS using your DWHS data warehouse userid and password.

    To create a TWHS connection in Bi/Query

  • From the Host menu chose Connections…

  • In the bottom of the dialog box chose the biq.ini radio button, and then using the […] button to its right, browse to your connection directory:
    • If you only have one data model installed, then browse to its directory, which will be one of the following:
      C:\GQL\FINAID
      C:\GQL\FIS
      C:\GQL\HRIS
      C:\GQL\STUDENT
    • If you have more than one model installed then browse to C:\GQL
    • Click OK
  • Press the New... button which will bring up the following dialog:



  • Type your User Name in the User name field, enter the other fields as shown and then press Save.

    This should complete your connection setup.  You should now be able to connect to the database using the Data Model of your choice.
