These are people who are not employed by the University but belong to an affiliate organization or have a business relationship with a University Department. Academic Affairs grants associate status to individuals associated with a UO department and the Director of Human Resources grants associate status to organizations. These affiliations should be time limited, and renewed as needed. Examples include: University Bookstore, UO Foundation, Chancellors Office, and Religious Directors Association. |

Courtesy appointments are granted to faculty, researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and others who are spending time on the UO campus, but who are not otherwise affiliated with the University. Department Sponsored. This category is similar to Associates but the affiliation is not based on membership in an organization, but rather on an individual sponsorship by a department. These affiliates should only be eligible for a limited set of services. Examples include visiting scholars, graduate students working on a grant but not taking classes, and volunteers. This affiliation could also be used in the future to categorize vendors, guest lecturers, and others needing limited duration access to a minimal set of services. |
